Tomohiro Mae – 創造の旅を続けるアーティスト

代表作 "déjà-vu-poetry of wanderer-" シリーズでは、身近な風景や自然の中にタマゴを配置することで、観る人に静かな違和感や時間の流れを感じさせます。過去と現在が交錯するような感覚や、何気ない風景に潜む物語を想起させ、観る人それぞれの記憶や感情と結びつく余白を持たせています。

多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科博士前期課程修了後、近年は、2022年のギャラリー国立（東京）をはじめ、2024年にはGalerie Bohner（ドイツ）やSMARTSHIP GALLERY（東京）、2025年はKunstraum Gerdi Gutperle（ドイツ）での個展も成功を収めました。第108回二科展では「特選」を受賞。また、ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH（スイス）、ART365（D-artART／日本）、ONE ART Taipei（台湾）、ART IJ Contemporary Art Show（台湾）などのアートフェアにも参加し、活動の幅を広げています。さらに、ニューヨークやパリ、ドイツでのグループ展に参加するなど、国際的にも評価を高めています。

Tomohiro Mae – An Artist Continuing a Journey of Creation

In his signature series “déjà-vu – poetry of wanderer –,” Tomohiro Mae places eggs within familiar landscapes and natural settings. Through this motif, his works evoke a quiet sense of discomfort and the passage of time. Moments where the past and present seem to intersect are suggested, and hidden narratives within ordinary scenery are brought to the surface, leaving space for viewers to connect the works with their own memories and emotions.

After completing the Master’s Program at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tama Art University, Mae has expanded his artistic practice both in Japan and internationally. In recent years, he has held solo exhibitions at Gallery Kunitachi (Tokyo) in 2022, Galerie Bohner (Germany) and SMARTSHIP GALLERY (Tokyo) in 2024, and Kunstraum Gerdi Gutperle (Germany) in 2025, all of which were well received. He received the Special Award at the 108th Nika Exhibition. He has also participated in international art fairs including ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH (Switzerland), ART365 (Japan), ONE ART Taipei (Taiwan), and ART IJ Contemporary Art Show (Taiwan), and has taken part in group exhibitions in New York, Paris, and Germany, steadily gaining international recognition.
